Wacom To Support 64bit Computing

Wacom® Technology Corporation recently announced that its Intuos3® pen tablets and Cintiq® 21UX interactive pen display will support 64-bit computing. 64-bit computing was developed to address the growing number of sophisticated users in the animation, design and photographic space who are pushing the limitations of 32-bit systems. Wacom intends to offer a beta copy of its 64-bit driver in May 2005 for Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition.

What 64-bit Means for Wacom Customers
Digital content creators, such as animators, game developers and graphic designers, using Wacom Intuos3 or Cintiq products expect to benefit significantly from 64-bit’s ability to optimize parallel processes, as well as increase I/O speeds and improve floating-point performance. For example, 64-bit will allow animators to paint on fully-rendered 3-D models, rather than smaller wire frame representations.
