Moving to Media Temple
Media Temple’s slick new Grid Server (gs) service is just too tempting. I’d like to display some loyalty to Dreamhost, but when it comes down to it, they’re really starting to suck. Random outages, email problems, constant equipment failures and the customer support has gone down the drain too. I was considering posting specific links to the problems, but I don’t have that kind of time.
On the same day that I got an email from Dreamhost letting me know it was time to renew next week, my site went down for 2 hours. Then again the next day. Nice.
I have a few websites and a few databases to transfer. I plan on scheduling the transfers this weekend as to avoid as much downtime as possible. I’ll probably lose a decent chunk of my Mint stats while waiting for the DNS to switch and the database transfer overlap, but everything else should go (hopefully) smoothly.
