Monotype Imaging Adds Four Foundries and 192 Products to Fonts.com
Monotype Imaging Inc. has added typeface collections from Alan Meeks, Ray Cruz, Type Associates and Mecanorma. The 192 new products can be viewed, purchased and downloaded from www.fonts.com/foundries.
“This batch of releases contains new work from some old friends,” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Monotype Imaging. “We’ve carried typefaces from these foundries and designers for years and are happy to bring their collections to Fonts.com.”
Alan Meeks has been working in design and typography for more than 30 years. He created numerous designs for Letraset and International Typeface Corporation and has established his own foundry to promote his recent work. His Copacabana™ typeface family is a slightly italicized design partially based on the Goudy Old Style™ italic font. The 29 Alan Meeks products are offered in the PostScript® and TrueType® font formats for Microsoft® Windows® and Macintosh® systems. Prices start at $56.
Ray Cruz divides his time in New York City between graphic design, type design and custom lettering. His Cruz Handy™ family was inspired by hand-lettered grocery store signs Cruz recalls from his childhood. The three new products from Cruz start at $42 and are available in the Postscript and TrueType formats for Macintosh and Windows platforms.
Type Associates emphasizes practical and enduring design, according to Haley, who noted that the cheerful handwriting Sanguine™ design is no exception. The 18 new font products from Type Associates are available in PostScript, TrueType and in most cases the OpenType® format for Windows and Macintosh systems. Prices begin at $22.
Monotype Imaging has offered several of Mecanorma’s display fonts over the years. Now Mecanorma’s complete collection is available on Fonts.com through the ITF foundry. Newcomers include the Classic Script™ typeface, an elegant and traditionally-styled formal script. Products are available in the Postscript format for Macintosh and Windows platforms and in the TrueType format for Windows platforms starting at $56.
As the Internet’s most comprehensive and convenient place to preview, purchase and download fonts, Fonts.com offers single fonts, packages, family volumes and type libraries, including both the Monotype® and ITC® libraries. Visitors are greeted with clear navigation and multiple search options in addition to articles, tips and techniques. Live customer care representatives are available to assist in identifying and selecting typefaces and to resolve technical issues. Fonts.com also provides information about Monotype Imaging’s custom font services.
